A beautiful shop counter from Northern France, circa mid/late 19th century.

Starting life originally as an oak marriage chest that was later re-imagined as a shop counter.

Two drawers with attractive old brass pulls over an open base with low level shelf.

Decoratively panelled back and sides making the piece desirable from all sides.

Possessing an air of grandeur and somewhat ecclesiastical in character.

Beautifully crafted from oak with some quality carpentry to admire. Along with multiple areas of grain detail, rich colours and satisfying wear.

Some minor historic worm, treated and clear.

Raised a touch with a new oak skirt to offer the perfect height for a kitchen island or useable shop counter.
