The Board Residence began with a simple passion: finding beautiful old things and giving them a new chapter.
After a long career in hospitality, founder Matt Stanaway developed a keen eye for interiors and an appreciation for the character, craftsmanship and atmosphere that only age can bring to a space. What started as a personal pursuit soon evolved into a business built around sourcing exceptional furniture and decorative pieces with soul, history and individuality.
It wasn't long before Matt was joined by restorer and fellow admirer of all things aged and unique, Kirsty Toozs-Hobson. Together, they have shaped The Board Residence into a carefully curated collection of timeworn statement pieces, each selected for its beauty, authenticity and enduring appeal.
From their base in Bude, North Cornwall, they travel across the UK, in to France and throughout Europe in search of remarkable pieces with stories to tell. As The Board Residence approaches its tenth year, the philosophy remains unchanged. The finest interiors are layered with objects that have lived a life—crafted by skilled hands, built to last, and worthy of being repurposed, rehomed and reloved.
Today, as the team grows, T.B.R. is proud to work with leading interior designers, hospitality and retail brands and private clients throughout the UK and internationally, sourcing distinctive pieces that bring warmth, character and a sense of story to both contemporary and traditional spaces.
