Pair of Grandon Frères Stone Garden Tazzas
A matched pair of monumental French cast-stone garden tazzas by Grandon Frères.
France, circa 1940–1960.
Highly decorative, retaining their original maker's stamps and an attractive naturally weathered surface acquired through decades of outdoor exposure.
Elegant in proportion, each bowl is raised on a low circular foot and formed with a broad, flared rim. The cast-stone composition has developed a beautiful patina with traces of lichen, mineral staining, and surface weathering, lending the pieces a character and authenticity impossible to replicate.
Their restrained design allows them to sit comfortably within both traditional and modern settings, whether planted in a formal garden or displayed as sculptural vessels in a contemporary interior.
Each has a central drainage hole.
Stamped to the inside "GRANDON Frès – Made in France – Breveté."
Sold as a pair. Featured cast-iron plinths are also available but not included in this sale.
Dimensions (each)
Height: 30 cm
Rim Diameter: 77 cm
Base Diameter: 30 cm
Condition
Good structural condition with no cracks, repairs, or restoration. Original weathered surface throughout, consistent with age and long-term garden use. One has a very minor loss to the foot rim.
