Pair of Gentlemen's Club Armchairs
A distinguished matched pair of English leather armchairs, circa 1900 - 1920.
Beautifully aged with rich, naturally distressed hide, deep arched backs, hand-applied brass stud detailing and sculpted armrests featuring exquisite hand-carved fluted wooden facings.
Sympathetically restored to retain their originality and protect the characterful wear. The leather has been treated to re-nourish and waxed to protect the colour. All rips, tears and cracks have been well patched and strengthened to stabilise and prevent further damage.
Newly upholstered 'deep plum' zipped cushion covers and seat backs, strengthened webbing and original sprung bases.
The wonderfully patinated leather and time-worn character lend these chairs an unmistakable sense of history and refined country-house appeal.
