A super pair of classic original French Art Deco club armchairs with oak slay feet.
Sourced from the banlieues of Paris, France and dating to the 1920s.
Great scale, form and style, both having a beautifully well weathered character.
Sympathetically restored to retain their originality and protect the characterful wear and patina of time. The leather has been treated to re-nourish and waxed to protect the colour. All rips, tears and cracks have been well patched and strengthened to stabilise and prevent further damage.
The cushions are in great condition and were likely replaced in the 1970s/80s. Dark brown chenille textured fabric covers with zips to remove and wash. Seat springs and lining are in good condition (likely replaced in the 70s). Great looking stud work with no losses.
There's no mistake that these chairs are worn, very worn, with a life well lived and this is what gives them such a beautiful character. The wear is purely on the surface with their structure being solid and sound. Pairs of authentic French club chairs like these are becoming hard to find.
