A quality and increasingly scarce Parisian patented “Table Soleil” adjustable reading and drafting table, retaining its two original brass maker’s plaques marked:
“Marque de Garantie – Table Soleil – Brevetée – Paris”
Crafted in solid hardwood with elegant classical styling, this ingenious piece was designed as a multi-purpose reading, writing, music, and drafting stand. The table features a beautifully turned pedestal base, fluted column, and a sophisticated mechanical adjustment system allowing both height and angle regulation through its original rack-and-pinion mechanism and brass hardware. The generous rectangular top adjusts to multiple positions and flips through 180 degrees. Both book ledges are adjustable to conceal.
The combination of fine cabinetmaking and precision engineering embodies the innovation and craftsmanship of the French makers of this period.
Functional and highly decorative with a rich warm patina acquired through decades of use.
Equally suited for use as a statement library stand, collector’s display piece, architect’s table, music stand, or commercially as a hospitality menu/welcome stand.
