Mahogany Naval Campaign Chest on Chest

A superb Georgian English military captain's chest crafted from mahogany.

All in one storage solution encompassing a linen press, a bureau, a filling cabinet and further drawers.

Thought to be a captain's sea chest of military origin, circa early/mid 1800s. Recently returned having spent many decades in India with an English family. Sadly no earlier provenance.

Clearly of notability and created with remarkable craftsmanship. This chest is beautifully designed for life at sea with most drawers having latches on the sides and/or bottom to stop them from sliding out in rough seas.

Partially refurbished to free up some drawers. Now all running smoothly.

Solid, sturdy and in good condition for age. Likely missing some of its original trim and decoration. 

Most of the original brass locks are present but no keys.

Comes in two sections for easy moving.
