An impressive oak counter originating from Lower Normandy, France.

Starting life in the 18th century as a large monastic coffer and since converted rather beautifully in to a shop counter.

Decoratively hand carved front and side panels depict ecclesiastical figure heads, columns and symmetrical boarders.

Having two drawers with blackened steel cup handles, a mid-way half width shelf and a further base level full shelf.

Its walnut wood counter top is rich in distinctive grain patterns and tone contrasts.

Superbly aged through the centuries with its character certainly holding some history. The original coffer lid hinges and keyhole surround still remain. Historic worm patterns adding further character.

A fantastic statement shop counter, hospitality desk or even kitchen island.
