Beech Wood Work Bench
A fully restored late 19th century work bench originating from a cabinet makers workshop in southern Normandy, France.
Crafted largely from solid beech wood with pine boarded doors, back and shelves. Beech wood vice with cast iron handle and coil in full working order.
Thick solid beech work top with beautiful grain detail and wear from age.
A central cupboard with four shelves and a further base level shelf offering plenty of storage. The shelves are made using old rum bottle crates from distillers 'Rhum Nikola' that were imported to France by Cointreau in the early 1900s. Thus the shelves were likely a later addition.
Attractive steel door latches both inside and out.
The work top sits snuggly on top and is simply remove-able for ease of placement.
The bench would make a super freestanding kitchen island or prep table.
